Exoplanets.org

The hunt for new planetary systems, especially for analogs to our own Solar System, requires a dedicated planet-hunting telescope. Construction is currently underway of a robotic telescope designed to discover the first Earth-like planets in our Galactic neighborhood. We are seeking donors to help us raise funds to:

Construct and name the new 2.4-meter telescope dedicated to the Doppler detection of extrasolar planets of terrestrial size for the first time. ($3 million)
Endow a chair in extrasolar planetetary science at the University of California or Carnegie Institution ($2.1 million)
